The Tree Hunt 2010

As for The Burrow today's Advent note sent us on the search for a tree. We are lucky enough to have a Seasonal Tree Farm right down the road from us, so we moseyed on over.

Down the road

To see what this year's crop of trees looked like. Mr. Moo had a very specific idea in mind regarding the look of this year's tree. He is so over Mama's Noble Fir needs. He wants a real tree.

Arrival!

He found the tree he wanted within seconds of arriving, and true to from was totally and completely fixated on that tree being the tree. He did listen politely to the owner's wife as she told him there were several acres of trees to choose from.
discussing the tree criteria

In the end he agreed with her that he could go look at all those trees, but that he had found his tree. Since I am on to him in a big way, I nixed the wandering through the tree farm business. And we got down to the business of securing the tree with our name.

The Tree. And the Brother.

Part of the Magic of having a Tree Farm down the road is that, you can pick out your tree early, thus taking an edge, however small off the decoration hysteria that may be overtaking your home. "But Mom! Everyone else in the WHOLE WORLD HAS already got a tree but ussssss!"

"Grandma, doesn't have her tree and neither does Neighbor Girl's family".

"But everyoneeeee else dooooooes!"
cocoa

We pick out our tree early, securing for the boys the reality that we are getting a tree, our tree is out there, without the reality for the Mama and Dad of decorating the tree RIGHT NOW!

We'll wander back down the road next week, and bring our tree home to decorate. Two separate Advent treats! Getting the Tree and Decorating the Tree!
